Expansion of cooperation with SAGES (Scottish Alliance for Geoscience, Environment and Society)

Expansion of cooperation

SAGES (Scottish Alliance for Geoscience, Environment and Society) pools world-leading expertise in geoscience and environmental science from across Scotland’s research base, creating an multi-disciplinary alliance at the forefront of earth and environmental research.

In August 2022, Dr Kiri Rogers from the University of West Scotland spent four weeks as a visiting scientist at the Chair of Organic Biochemistry in Geo-Systems with Prof Schwarzbauer. During her stay, she carried out extensive sampling on the river Wurm near the sewage treatment plant at Aachen-Soers, the results of which are now also helping to set up the Living Lab planned there. The project was funded by SAGES as part of the SALTIRE call for proposals.
